This is the 4th season for the Senior Masters Bowling league. It’s inaugural season was 2010-2011. It was started at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes because the players wanted a flatter (more challenging) oil pattern then what was offered at other centers. The league voted for the USBC White 2 oil pattern. The league’s first 2 seasons had 10 three man teams. It expanded to 12 teams for the 2012-13 season and has 13 teams for the current year.

This is an open league with the only rule that a player must be at least 50 years old to compete. There are 24 players who are charter members, who have competed at least 21 games for the first 3 seasons and are current players. The league has averaged 208/game for the 3 previous seasons. This season the league is currently  averaging 205/game as players are adapting to the slight change to the oil pattern. Currently with 4 week remaining ( 60 points available) in the 1st round, 10 teams are within 15 points of 1st place. It should be a really interesting finish.

A pat on the back to all 13 members of our league for bowling in the recently completed MBA Sr. Masters Tourney.  Dave Massey made match play and wound up 4th.  Pete Yelk and Conway Sunell cashed. We were represented by numbers very well on a very fair test at Schwoegler’s.   Almost half the field were Sr. Masters league members.   Lets get those numbers up next year so we can get close to 40 bowlers which an MBA tourney of this caliber should garner!  Results posted here.
