The Madison USBC Bowling Association established the Dan Mack Memorial Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in 2000 to honor the top adult male bowler in the association age 50+.

The recognition continues with the Madison Area USBC, as does the Jim Grady Memorial Award for adult men. New recognition awards introduced in 2017 include the Marge Pursell Award for adult women, the Dee Fix Memorial Award for senior women, the Sandy Stanley Memorial Award for youth females, and the Lowell Maves Memorial Award for youth males.

The Dan Mack Award honors a Madison Area USBC bowler, at least 50 years of age as of August 1 of the current season. Bowlers earn points for top finishes and honor scores in Madison Area, State, and National Championship Tournaments, and the Madison Area Scratch Tour. Additional top performances may be considered such as PBA and/or other high profile scratch events. Association high individual and composite averages, and league and honor scores may have some bearing.

The top point earners are reviewed by the Adult Recognition subcommittee of the Awards and Recognition Committee, and are eligible for consideration to be the Dan Mack Senior Bowler of the Year or a member of the All City Senior Men’s Team.
