MBA Annual Meeting

The MBA Annual Meeting will take place Saturday, November 2, at Schwoegler’s Entertainment Center at 10:00 a.m.  The meeting should last an hour and a half.

The agenda will include:

  • Presentation of proposed 2013-14 MBA budget.
  • Election of directors. Up for election are John Bisco, Bob Eveland, Tom Gullickson, and Bob Ruhland.
  • A delegate will also be chosen to represent the MBA at the Wisconsin State Bowling Association Meeting in Menomonee Falls on January 11, 2014.
  • Up to five delegates will be selected to represent the MBA at the USBC National Convention, April 22-25, 2014 in Reno, NV.
  • MBA committee interest and assignments.
  • Discussion on the new Association Performance Standards issued by the USBC to go in effect for the 2014-15 season:
    • Local Association Performance Standards Guide
    • Create a committee for development of a coaching clinics program utilizing Welcome2Bowling, Bowling 2.0, and USA Bowling Coaching seminars.  The MBA will be required to conduct a minimum of six clinics, two of which are for training coaches.
    • Each member of the board must successfully complete a specified online course by Sept. 30 of each year.
    • League and bowler membership applications must be completed within 30 days of league start date.
    • Increase championship tournament participation by 6% annually (currently: roughly 6 teams in the regular tournament and 2 1/2 teams in the senior tournament)
  • Discussion on Award changes for the 2014-15 season:
    • Award Changes for 2014-15
    • Local associations will be responsible for achievement awards, if any.
    • High score awards will only be awarded to first time achievers beginning August 1, 2014.
  • Discussion on the new Professional Lane Inspectors program, where Wisconsin is a test state, and the role of the local association.

    • USBC will start a new program to explore the feasibility of using professional teams to handle lane inspections. The Professional Lane Inspection and Certification program initially will be implemented in four states, starting June 1, 2014.  Wisconsin, along with Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming are the selected states.
