Karine M. Aslakson

A devoted ambassador for bowling since 1976, Karine Aslakson has spent five decades promoting, organizing, and serving the sport at every level.

Her association leadership includes service as a Madison Area USBC Director since 2018 and as a Madison Women’s Bowling Association Director from 2010 until the merger. She has contributed to the Finance/Audit, Awards and Recognition, Legislative, and Scholarship Committees, chairing the Scholarship Committee for the past five years.

At the league level, she has been a certified bowler in good standing for 50 years at houses throughout the area, serving as Secretary/Treasurer for multiple leagues, including current duties for two leagues at Spartan Bowl.

Her volunteerism is tireless: staffing tournament check-in tables, scorekeeping, serving as House Captain and Tournament Director, working Hall of Fame registration and the Dinner of Champions, securing sponsors for the association Golf Outing, and staffing the association office weekly. She received the Madison WBA Exceptional Member Award in 2013.

A dedicated competitor as well, she will bowl her 50th consecutive Wisconsin State Tournament and her 25th consecutive USBC Women’s Championships this year. One year after her husband Don was honored for Meritorious Service, she joins him in the Hall of Fame – a testament to a household, and a lifetime, devoted to the game she loves.
