The Madison Area USBC is proud to announce the induction of three exceptional members into the Hall of Fame on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the DoubleTree Hotel on East Washington Avenue.
Don Aslakson will be recognized for his meritorious service spanning over five decades. A true ambassador for bowling, Don served 26 years as MBA Director and has been instrumental in leadership throughout the Madison area. His dedication extends from military service to mentoring countless bowlers, some of whom have achieved Hall of Fame status themselves.
George Dorn exemplifies lifelong dedication to organized bowling, beginning his service at age 14 and continuing for over three decades as MBA Director and Vice-President. Beyond his administrative leadership, George co-founded charitable tournaments including the Zach’s Buddies tournament for Cystic Fibrosis, demonstrating bowling’s power to unite communities for meaningful causes.
Mike Hoffman enters the Hall of Fame for his distinguished performance as one of the most prolific champions in Madison Area USBC history. With 33 total titles including 22 Madison Area Scratch Tour victories, Mike has earned four Jim Grady Bowler of the Year awards while exemplifying the finest qualities of sportsmanship both on and off the lanes.
The ceremony will also recognize two outstanding youth bowlers as “Stars of the Future.”
Maggie Porter demonstrates exceptional leadership and character through her commitment to developing other bowlers. The 2024 Wisconsin High School Singles State Champion and US High School National Singles Champion maintains a 3.7+ GPA while excelling in competitive bowling with a high series of 792 and multiple state championships.
Joe Myhre displays proven leadership that earns respect from teammates and competitors alike. With consistent high-level performance including a high series of 744, Joe has competed at state tournaments and contributed significantly to his community through volunteer work supporting bowling programs. His dedication to mentoring younger players and three-year commitment to the Sun Prairie Junior bowling program reflect his genuine passion for advancing the sport.
The ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m. with a cash bar starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $40.00, and reservations must be made by Thursday, August 7, 2025.
