Rick A. Erce

The dominant force in Madison area senior bowling, Rick Erce has amassed 17 championships — 11 Madison Area USBC Senior Open titles, three Senior Masters crowns, and three city titles.

His Senior Open collection spans Team, Doubles, Singles, and All Events, including a 2025-26 sweep of the All Events, Singles, and Team titles. His Senior Masters crowns came in a four-season burst (2013-14, 2014-15, 2016-17), and he finished among the top five in that event seven consecutive years.

He has excelled in open competition as well, winning Team titles at the Madison Area Open Championships in 2018-19 and 2020-21, adding the All Events crown in the latter with a 2,283 total. He shares a state record 3-Person Team score of 2,443, the fourth-highest in USBC history, with Willie Feltz and Nate Smith.

His scoring resume features 49 perfect games, including a 300 at the 2025 Senior State Tournament, thirty 800 series topped by an 836, and a 242 high average. He is a six-time Senior City first-team selection.

He has given back to the game as well, serving six years as head co-coach at La Follette High School, guiding the program to two state tournament appearances and earning 2016-17 Coach of the Year honors.

Rick Erce’s sustained excellence and record-setting performances define championship senior bowling in the Madison area.
