2024 Stars of the Future Named

Ava Rodefeld of the Prairie Lanes Youth Program and Leo Link from the Dream Lanes Youth Program have been named the Madison Area USBC 2023-24 Stars of the Future.

Each year the Madison Area USBC awards one female and one male youth bowler the Star of the Future Award. This award recognizes a youth bowler for what they are doing to give back to or otherwise demonstrate a positive influence in their community. Youth bowlers of all ages can be nominated. This award comes with a $1,000.00 SMART scholarship.

A Madison Area USBC Star of the Future recognition is annually awarded to the male and female youth bowler who distinguish themselves through their exemplary character, sportsmanship, and contributions to the sport of bowling.
These individuals are often prominent in leadership roles and inspirational to others by their volunteer work, community service, sports and activities participation, and bowling achievements.

Ava’s composure both on and off the lanes makes her an ideal candidate for this award. As an eight year member of the Prairie Lanes Youth Bowling program she found a true confidence in herself in league that translated into her success in tournaments and High School bowling.

Off the lanes she is a member of Future Business Leaders of America and Sun Prairie Envision. Clocking many volunteer hours with both organizations and creating charity fundraising events. She is also involved in Sun Prairie Productions and Drama Club.

Her future is bright as she plans to study business administration and marketing after graduation.

Leo’s strong leadership skills have led him to an outstanding resume on and off the lanes. In his eight years as a member of the Dream Lanes Youth Bowling program he has made a positive impact on all those around him in league, tournaments, and High School bowling.

Off the lanes he is a high honors student involved in many school activities such as baseball, orchestra, Tower TV, yearbook, and East Newspaper club. He has also impressively logged over 100 volunteer hours with various organizations including both Youth and Adult State Bowling Tournaments.

His future sees him at UW-Milwaukee where he is sure to make a statement majoring in film and journalism.
