The first Senior City Tournament was held at Badger Bowl. The tournament ran on consecutive Saturdays in January, the 14th and 21st, with two squad times each day at 9:30 and 12:30. Doubles and Singles events were offered, there was no team event, and All Events were paid out for six game totals.
The tournament had corporate support of $500.00 from L&L Foods whose late owner was Bill Lazarz – a member of the MBA Legion of Honor.
The tournament committee was MBA Hall of Famer Bob DeZonia (manager), MBA Hall of Famer Phil Leighton, MBA Past President Gordon Smith, and Association Manager Mike Repas-Reed.
The tournament attracted nearly 150 senior bowlers in just its first year.
