The Madison Area USBC conducts a number of tournaments for bowlers of all abilities.

For all tournaments, division champions and scratch titlists will be invited to the annual Dinner with the Champions, held in the fall of the following season.

Open Championships

The Open Championship Tournament is held at the beginning of the new year. It is the same basic format as the Wisconsin State Tournament and USBC Open Championships, with Team, Doubles, and Singles events, and optional All Events. The tournament has a declared scratch division, and three handicapped (100%) divisions – one for averages 200 and higher (1000 Team, 400 Doubles), another for averages 180-199 (900 to 999 Team, 360 to 399 Doubles), and a third for averages 179 and under (899 and below Team, 359 and below Doubles). All team captains are entered into a drawing for a new bowling ball. One ball will be given away for every 30 team entries.

Senior Open Championships

This tournament is held in the fall. It has Team, Doubles, and Singles events, optional All Events, and scratch options. All divisions for the Senior Open are 100% handicapped. There are two divisions for Team (800 and higher, 799 and lower) and Doubles (400 and higher, 399 and lower). Singles and All Events divisions are age based – ranging from 50-54 to 70+. All team captains are entered into a drawing for a new bowling ball. One ball will be given away for every 30 team entries.

Women’s Championships

This tournament is held in the fall. It has Team, Doubles, and Singles events, and optional All Events. All divisions for the Women’s Championships are 100% handicapped. There are two divisions for each event based 170 averages. Singles and All Events (170 and higher, 169 and lower), Team (680 and higher, 679 and lower) and Doubles (340 and higher, 339 and lower). All team captains are entered into a drawing for a new bowling ball. One ball will be given away for every 30 team entries.

Youth Championships

The Youth Championships are typically held every December. It has Four-Person Teams, Doubles, and Singles events. This tournament is entered through your youth program.

Masters

The annual Madison Area Masters is held opening weekend of the Open Championships. It is an open singles scratch event conducted on the upcoming Open lane conditions.

Queens

The annual Madison Area Queens is a women’s only tournament held in conjunction with the Masters. It is a singles handicapped event.
