Senior Open Weekend One

Opening weekend, as they customarily are, was fairly quiet in participation with 11 teams and 12 sets of doubles. But, that didn’t matter to the competition who came to win.

Highlighting the opening weekend was local, state, and national Hall of Famer Jeff Richgels who takes the lead in All Events, Doubles, and Singles with a 2173 total, including 749 in Doubles and 754 in Singles. The Singles set included a perfect game.

Mike Massoth and Bill Lannoye topped the over average efforts at +104 pins – both in their singles events. They lead Singles Division 4 and Division 5, respectively. Rick Elliot was the only “team bowler” in the top three over average – shooting 716 for a +101 set.

Unofficial standings are updated on the 2018-19 Senior Open page.

We’re up to 45 teams and 73 sets of minors, with four weekends to go. There are still spots open on many shifts, though very limited on some. You can view the updated lane availability on the Senior Open main page.
