Just two squads bowled over the past weekend in the Madison Area Senior Open at Lake Ripley Lanes, as the Senior Masters was held on Sunday.
The tournament continues for one FINAL weekend this Saturday and Sunday. There is still plenty of room! Two shifts each day at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Contact the bowling office at 221.0300 to get in!

A couple of our senior ladies grabbed top spots over the weekend, both in Singles action. Marj Barsness snuck by not-too-happy doubles partner Joyce Parizo by one pin on the strength of a 214 final game. Marj is +44 and leading Singles Division 1 with one weekend to go.
In Division 2 Singles, defending Doubles and All Events titlist Dwain Holznagel made a run at the Singles title this year with a 732 set, just short of Jeff Richgels’ leading 754. Holznagel is in third place in the division. He is joined in the top five by Herb Kimpel, who shot 721 and is in fourth place at +43. HOF Jeff Prein still leads at +76.
Linda Kilgore took the lead in Singles Division 3 after four weekends of competition, with a +94 613 scratch series. Linda strung together games of 230, 191, and 192. She is one of three women to shoot 600 in the event so far, along with Senior Bowler of the Year Gayle Seltzner (653) and Chris Smith (641,612).
Madison Area Director Karine Aslakson is in second place in Singles Division 4, shooting a +91 571 set. Dan Dickens cracked the top five as well, with a +37 613 series. Mike Massoth remains on top at +104.
There were no changes to the top five in Division 5 Singles, where Bob Lannoye holds the top position at +104.
In All Events Division 1, Senior Bowler of the Year Chris Gibbons moved into second place (and third scratch) with a +76 2128. Craig Baker leads at +112.
Lake Ripley’s Larry Hebbe is in first at +150 in All Events Division 2. Defending All Events Titlist Dwain Holznagel shot 2036, good for fourth high scratch, and is also in fourth in Division 2 All Events.
Linda Kilgore’s Singles success vaults her into second place in Division 3 All Events at +55. She is joined in the top five by Gayle Seltzner. ‘Chip’ Feltz is +70 and remains in first place.
Hall of Famer Paul Beckman moved into second place in All Events Division 4 at 109 pins over average. Karine Aslakson went +77 for her nine games and is in third place. Mike Massoth, at +175 is in front.
All Events Division 5 is still led by Al Speropulos at +80; no changes to the top five over this past weekend.
The team ‘Tues Senior Bvard’ is in second place in Team Division 1 – a division with STILL only one team over average – LRLOF at +22. Team Captain and Hall of Famer Dave Shaw led the team with 684. HOF Dave Erickson added 616, Larry Van Natta 613, and Lane 1 Truehl 608, as the team posted -23. They are also fifth in the scratch option at 2521.
No changes to Team Division 2 top five where the Lake City All Stars are in first place at +73.
