Paul Beckman starred in the opening weekend of the 2012-13 Madison USBC Bowling Association Senior City Tournament. Beckman made a pretty good ball change after struggling to a 176 first game in the Team event and laced 20 strikes in a row for a 268-300 finish and a 744 series. Beckman’s 300 was one of two honor scores rolled opening weekend. Dennis Grossman fired a 290 game in the Team event during squad 2.
Scoring for this year’s tournament has been pretty moderate with the lanes yielding only 11 – 700 series over the 130 sets rolled this past weekend. Mike Massoth led the charge with a 748 in the Doubles event. He and defending Division 3 Singles Champion Al Speropulos are the current leaders in that event. Massoth also currently leads 60-64 Singles and All Events.
