Senior City Tournament, Week 2

The MBA Senior City Tournament continued over the past weekend, and the center yielded some great scores for those who could keep up with and overcome the transition.

Lanes 1 and 2 yielded a pair of 300 games during the team event, one each to Jeff Barsness and Todd Steckelberg. Steckelberg posted a 780 series and his 300 was part of a 23 strike string. Rick Erce was also perfect in Doubles with a 300 middle game. There have been 16 other games over 270, including an odd 284 from Andy Winn on … 1 and 2.

The top four series in the tournament have all been in the team event, led by Tim Morris with a 799 – 10 pin on the last shot. Brad Miller had 786, Steckelberg 780 and Herb Kimpel 775.

Team GHRJ maintains the top spot in the Scratch Team standings at 2847, holding off a strong showing from 11th Frame.com. 11th Frame posted games of 1004 and 966 to start, but could only muster an 827 final game for a 2797 scratch total.

Bears Still Suck went 143 pins over average to take over the top spot previously held by GRHJ. Brad Miller had 786, Steve Studee 727, Tom Brabender 609, and Jeff Keller 517.

Spartan Bowl holds on to the top spot in Division 2 at +110, and there were also no changes in any of the doubles events.

Gregg Williams is still on top of scratch singles with 727.

Tim Herbrand took over the top spot in Singles 50-54 with a 677 scratch series, +74 over average.

Dave Loecher is +69 in Singles 55-59 with his 633 series.

The Singles 60-64 leader is still Dan Chesemore at +120 and Al Speropulos maintains the lead in Singles 65-69 at +121.

Hall of Famer Phil “Whiz Kid” Leighton is leading the Singles 70+ division on his +78 639 series.
