Senior City Tournament Week 1

Some good bowling at Waun-A-Bowl over the first weekend of the Senior City Tournament.

Unofficial current standings are posted here.

Team FKEW set a very high bar in the scratch team event with a 2847 scratch total on games of 955, 957, and 935. The team comes in with a 915 average and their +102 effort also leads Division 1 for now. Herb Kimpel had 775, Jim Fosdick 731, Gregg Williams 720, and Rick Erce had the rest.

Spartan Bowl is currently in the top spot in Division 2 at +110. Jerry Ewers rolled a 671 with a 266 game to lead the team. Bob Ecker had 603, Ed Steiner 581, and John Schwenn 583.

In Doubles, Brad Miller and Tom Brabender are in the top spot of Division One at +132 on the strength of Millers 737 series.

Ken Tiedt bowled very well in Doubles Division One with a 651 series. Mike Dailey added 587 as the duo leads with +114.

Jim Fosdick and Herb Kimpel are in the top stop of optional Scratch Doubles with 1415, powered by Fosdick’s 761 set.

Defending Scratch Doubles Titlists Gregg Williams and Dwain Holznagel parted ways in a sense as Williams leads Scratch Singles and Singles 50-54 with his 727, +37 over average. Holznagel is in the top spot of Singles 55-59 at +16 with 682.

The Singles 60-64 leader is Dan Chesemore who rolled a 672 series, 120 pins over his average.

In Singles 65-69, Al Speropulos fired a +121 706 series with games of 243, 227, and 236 to take the first weekend lead.

And in Singles 70+, Rod Haak heads a very competitive division where six bowlers rolled 600 or higher. Haak’s 670 was best and +70 is currently first place.

Congratulations to Storm SnapLock ball winners Earl Chandler, Dave Shaw, Dan Lockman, Fred Schulze, and Matt Lajter, who will all be visiting Bob Holzbauer at Phoenix Pro Shop very soon.

There are limited openings for the tournament if you still want to enter. Call the bowling office at 221.0300.
