Del served the Madison Bowling Association as a director from 1977-1982 on numerous committees, including tournament, legislative, public relations, yearbook, secretaries tournament, executive, finance & budget, and Hall of Fame selection – among others.
In 1982, Del was elected to 4th Vice President and ascended through the vice-president tiers until he was elected MBA President in 1986. Del continued to serve the MBA on the nominating committee through 2005.
On the lanes, Del bowled in several leagues at Casino Lanes, Prairie Lanes, and Dream Lanes from 1962-63 until 2013-14 – 52 seasons. He is credited with a 2004-05 Senior Tournament Singles championship in the 65-69 age division.

Del was born on Nov. 5, 1936, to Walter and Rebecca (Steinkraus) Riemer in the Township of Courtland, Wis. He attended Rust Elementary, which was a one room school house, Cambria High School, and later graduated from MATC with a business degree. Del served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Joyce A. Jordan on Oct. 8, 1966, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Middleton. He worked at Security Marine Bank for 20 years and later started his own business, Midwest Uniforms, in Middleton, Wis. Del was a member of the Eastside Evangelical Lutheran Church and the East Side (Business Men’s) Club for over 50 years. Del enjoyed attending sporting/school events of his granddaughters.
Del is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Dale (Dawn) and Julie (John) Trimbell; and grandchildren, Cammi, Lindsay Trimbell, and Kyra. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marlene Quam.
A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at EASTSIDE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2310 Independence Lane, Madison, with the Rev. Glen Schmiege presiding. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the church.
