Committee effectiveness is critical to association operations. Madison Area USBC committees help organize the work done by the Association. Your volunteer directors chair a number of committees, and are assisted by other directors and non-board members.
Your association committees involve members in the development and delivery of services, represent your opinion in decision-making, and help serve your needs. They also offer the opportunity for group problem-solving and can be a forum for presenting multiple points of view. The findings of a committee have a direct impact on the decisions made by the officers and the board of directors of the association. The energy a committee member puts into your work on the committee has a direct influence on the direction your association takes.
Committees are also the training ground for future leadership and an arena where emerging leaders can test and refine their skills and abilities.
