For 39 years, Don Leighton has been a solid competitor on the lanes. Across three decades, he has recorded supernational series scores and won MBA tournament championships.
He rolled the first of his four 800 series with a personal best of 833 in 1985, and added others in 1991, 1996, and 2013.
His first MBA title came in 1985 as a member of the Whitey’s 2 team. In 1994, he bowled a 771 set in doubles to earn the Division 1 Doubles Championship with 1470.
Nearly 30 years after his first win, Leighton earned his first Senior City Tournament title, winning Singles in the 2014 MBA Senior City tournament with a 774 set, including a 299 game. He rolled a 300 game in the same tournament the previous season.
To date, he has rolled 19 perfect games. He booked his high single season average of 225 in 2003-04.
Don joins his father and tournament championship teammate, Phil Leighton, in the MBA Hall of Fame.
