Donald E. Aslakson
A true ambassador for the sport of bowling, Don Aslakson has dedicated over five decades to advancing the game he has loved since age 13. His remarkable service spans military duty with the Army and Air National Guard, where bowling remained a constant companion throughout his career.
His leadership within the Madison Bowling Association stands as a testament to his commitment, serving 26 years as MBA Director and National Convention Delegate. He extended this dedication to the Madison Area USBC, serving as a director for six more years.
At the league level, his contributions include several roles as a league President or Secretary for three decades at Viking Lanes, Wildcat Lanes, Rude’s Lanes, Badger Bowl (Stoughton) and the Wisconsin Traveling League.
His volunteerism extends beyond administrative duties. From scorekeeping and registration at tournaments to assisting during the historic merger, he has been indispensable.
A competitor of note, he participated in State and National Guard Tournaments, Badger State Games, and Senior Olympic competitions. Most proudly, he has mentored countless bowlers, some achieving Hall of Fame status themselves.
