Janice Ryan’s enduring commitment to youth bowling began in 1998 as a coach in the Dream Lanes youth program. Her legacy encompasses coaching, leadership, volunteerism, promotion, and philanthropy.
At the time of induction, she continues to serve as a Dream Lanes Youth bowling coach and is the program supervisor. From 2008-2017, she also coached the LaFollette High School girls bowling team, leading them to a District 4 championship in 2015. Her teams qualified for the state tournament each season and earned four top five finishes.
Ryan served in leadership roles as a director for the Madison Area Youth, the Wisconsin State Youth Board, and with the Madison Area USBC.
A dedicated volunteer, she has organized a 9-Pin Tap tournament fundraiser for charitable entities and the Dream Lanes Youth Scholarship program over nearly 50 years. She has worked as site director for multiple state Open, Women’s, and Youth tournaments.
Ryan never misses an opportunity to promote the sport of bowling to youth. Whether it’s a booth at the annual Kids Expo, sponsoring youth scholarships, or encouraging youth development in association centers, she has touched hundreds of lives as a positive bowling influence over her Hall of Fame career.
