Joe Kick’s bowling career began at Libertyville Lanes in Libertyville IL where at age 9 he earned the junior league championship in his first year competing. He continued to bowl throughout his youth and high school years and later joined the Madison Area Technical College (MATC) bowling team.
Joe’s career includes six Association Tournament Titles. He won a Doubles Title in 2006, and back-to-back Team Titles in 2010 and 2011. He followed this up with back-to-back Doubles Titles in 2012 and 2013. The 2012 score of 1553 stands as a record in the Open Championships. He added an All Events Title in 2013 as well.
Joe’s performance resume also includes four Madison Area Scratch Tour victories – two of those being Year End Championship tournaments, at Bowling Green in 2001 and at Badger Bowl in 2014.
He’s had 27 perfect games and 18 800 series as of his induction.
Joe has worked at Schwoegler Park Towne Lanes for nearly 30 years in a variety of roles that helped fuel his passion for the sport. He’s grateful to the Schwoegler family and the customers and colleagues who have become a second family.
His competitive spirit and learning from great coaches and bowling mentors along the way has brought him to another passion – coaching youth sports. Coaching his children Drew and Cate and their teammates has been life changing and rewarding.
