City Tournament Sponsor Update

City tournament entry forms will be distributed to MBA bowling centers this weekend.  The slight delay came with a last minute major sponsorship deal with Budweiser.  Ebonite has been added as a major sponsor and will be the official ball of the 12-13 tournament.  The MBA thanks these and our returning corporate sponsors.

Title Sponsor Stop-N-Go Convenience Centers Returns

Stop-N-Go Convenience Centers will be the Madison USBC Bowling Association Championship Tournament title sponsor again this season, re-committing their title sponsorship of the event.  Stop-N-Go has been the top sponsor of the MBA tournaments for many years, and we really appreciate their continued support.  There are better than a dozen locations in our association jurisdiction, so visit one soon.

Major Sponsors

Bowl-A-Vard Lanes, the host for this season’s tournament will again be a major sponsor of the city tournament, and are also sponsors of our Senior Association Championships.  More teams participate in the city tournament from Bowl-A-Vard than any other center.

Rob Bailey’s Pro Shop is returning as a major sponsor, and will serve as the ball raffle coordinator.  This year, the raffle bowling balls (including Captain’s Raffle and Squad Organizer prize) will be a high performance ball from Ebonite – the Challenge – which they can pick up at Rob’s Pro Shop.

Schemm Bowling Inc., will return as a major sponsor as well.  Tom Schemm has been a long time supporter of our events, and many others. The Schemms have been active in charitable organizations, bowling and otherwise. They sponsor an annual golf event that attracts more than 100 participants and raises funds for the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame and for cancer research at the University of Wisconsin.

New Sponsors

Budweiser has signed on as a major sponsor and will also help promote the tournament with posters in our association centers.  Their sponsorship will promote the newly named Budweiser League Challenge.  The BLC is a team “over average” contest run during the city tournament.  City tournament teams whose members are all from the same league may enter the contest – free of charge.  The BLC teams compete for shares of a separate $1,000 prize pool.  Highest over average wins $300 for their league, second place $200, and third through seventh places earn $100 each.  The BLC champions this year will get Budweiser League Challenge shirts from Budweiser.

Ebonite is the official ball of the 2012-13 city tournament.  They will provide the bowling balls for our regular raffle, as well as the “Captain’s Only” raffle.  All squad organizers (eight or more teams) will be awarded with a ball.  This year, we will feature the Ebonite Challenge.  This sponsorship will generate at least an additional $500 for the tournament prize fund.
