Rick Thomas fell in love with bowling in the youth leagues at Middleton Sport Bowl. While bowling collegiately, the Vincennes University graduate developed his signature smooth and powerful physical game.
His foray into scratch bowling began in the Storm Masters league as his knowledge of the game grew exponentially. Over his career, Thomas parlayed his skill and experience into three City Tournament titles and 10 top ten finishes. He has won a dozen Madison Area Scratch Tour championships with another 11 second place finishes. He owns a Wisconsin State doubles title, and has been a Henry Hitter champion.
Thomas holds the record for high average in the association at 252 in the 2011-12 season and has been the high association average bowler a number of times. In addition, he has been the Jim Grady Bowler of the Year twice, in 2008-09 and 2011-12. To date, he has thrown 37 perfect games and 34 800 series’.
While a superlative bowler with numerous accolades, Thomas has also been a good friend, a good teammate, and someone who loves bowling just a little more for the camaraderie than the competition.
