2019-20 Youth Bowlers of the Year

The Madison Area USBC is pleased to announce this year’s Youth Bowler of the Year and All Association Youth Teams.

Sandy Stanley Bowler of the Year: Erica Lohr

Erica Lohr led all Madison Area USBC youth bowlers in average this season, posting a 206 in the Prairie Lanes Thursday Storm Major League, and a 187 in the Saturday Storm Challenge League. She had two series of 700 with a high of 790 in the Saturday Storm Challenge League that included a 289 game. She also had a 300 game this season.
Lohr placed 1st in Class A Team, 2nd in Doubles, had the 5th highest series 616 at the Madison Area USBC Youth Championships.
In High School District 4 competition, she led the district in fill percentage, with an 88.53 fill rate. Her strike percentage was over 50%. Lohr’s Sun Prairie High School team finished first in Division 1 and she took a fourth place in State High School Singles out of 61 bowlers.
Lohr made the cut in 5 of the Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events, with four top 5 finishes and a win at Prairie Lanes.

Lowell Maves Bowler of the Year: Collin Krachey

Collin Krachey led all Madison Area USBC youth bowlers in average this season, posting a 225 in the Prairie Lanes Thursday Storm Major League, and a 195 in the Saturday Storm Challenge League. He had several series of 700 with a high of 773 and a 300 game.
Krachey placed 3rd in Class A Team and Doubles events, had the highest game, 288, and highest series, 750, at the Madison Area USBC Youth Championships.
In High School District 4 competition, Krachey led the district in strike percentage, over 65% and tied with Tyler Haugen for first in fill percentage with a 91.47 fill rate. He finished 8th out of 100 in the High School State Singles finals.
Krachey made the cut in all 6 of the Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events, winning the Master Event at Village Lanes.

The All Madison Area Female Youth Team

Erica Lohr – Sandy Stanley Bowler of the Year
Cila Freitas
Freitas averaged 192 in the Dream Lanes Youth Bowlers Majors League. She had eight 600 series, with a high of 676.
In High School District 4 competition, she was second in fill percentage, over 87%. Freitas led the High School District 4 in strike percentage, with nearly 54% which was more than 4 points over any other.
Freitas made the cut in 5 of the Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events, with 3 top 5 finishes and wins at Schwoegler’s Entertainment Center and Dream Lanes.
Taylor Jensen
Jensen averaged 194 this season in the Prairie Lanes Thursday Storm Major League, and a 183 in the Saturday Storm Challenge League. She had two series of 700 with a high of 737.
In High School District 4 competition, she was third in fill percentage, over 83% and over 51% in strike percentage.
Jensen’s Sun Prairie High School team finished first in Division 1 and finished 16th in the State High School Singles out of 61 bowlers.
Jensen made the cut in 5 of the Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events, with four top 5 finishes.
Zoey Darwin
Zoey averaged 188 in the Dream Lanes Youth Bowlers Majors League. She had four 600 series, with a high of 665.
Darwin placed 1st in Class A Singles, tied for 1st in High Game 246, and 2nd High Series 652 at the Madison Area USBC Youth Championships.
In High School District 4 competition, she was fourth in fill percentage, over 83% and over 47% in strike percentage.
Darwin made the cut in all 6 of the Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events, winning the Master Event at Village Lanes. She also had one top 5 finish.
Brianna Thurston
Thurston placed 3rd in Class A Team, 2nd Doubles, had the highest series 656 and 4th highest game 236 at the Madison Area USBC Youth Championships.
In High School District 4 competition, she had a 75% fill rate and over 38% in strike percentage. Thurston’s Sun Prairie High School team finished first in Division 1 at the High School State finals.
Thurston made the cut in 3 of the Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events, with four top 2 finishes.

The All Madison Area Male Youth Team

Collin Krachey – Lowell Maves Bowler of the Year
Tyler Haugen
Haugen held a 208 average in the Prairie Lanes Thursday Storm Major League, and a 200 in the Saturday Storm Challenge League. He had two 700 series this season, including a high series of 726.
Haugen posted the 3rd highest game 269 at the Madison Area USBC Youth Championships.
In High School District 4 competition, he tied with Krachey for first in fill percentage, with a 91.47 fill rate and over 60% in strike percentage.
Haugen made the cut in all six of the Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events with 3 top 5 finishes.
Michael Powley
Powley booked the second highest average for the Madison Area USBC youth bowlers, a 214 in the Prairie Lanes Thursday Storm Major League and a 197 in the Saturday Storm Challenge League, including three 700 series with the highest series being a 760.
In High School District 4 competition, he was in the top 10 in fill percentage, over 85% and over 62% in strike percentage.
Powley made the cut in all 6 of the Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events, with 3 top 5 finishes.
Sam Chapman
Chapman averaged 204 in the Prairie Lanes Thursday Storm Major League, and 187 in the Saturday Storm Challenge League including a high game of 279 and three 700 series, with the highest series being a 765.
Chapman placed 3rd in Class A Team event, 2nd place finishes in Class B Singles, the 3rd highest series 720 and highest game 267, and 4th in Pins Over Average +201 at the Madison Area USBC Youth Championships.
In High School District 4 competition, he was second in fill percentage, over 87% and over 54% in strike percentage.
Chapman made the cut in 4 of the 6 Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events.
Jensen Est
Est averaged 209 in the Prairie Lanes Thursday Storm Major League and 181 in the Saturday Storm Challenge League, including two 700 series with a high series of 728.
In High School District 4 competition, he was sixth in fill percentage, over 87% and over 53% in strike percentage.
Est made the cut in 5 of the 6 Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour events, and finished in the Top 5 at Ten Pin Alley.
