**UPDATE** The Masters and Queens will be at our Open Championship host center, Prairie Lanes. Start time is 11:00, we’ll shoot to get practice started ahead of that time. Check-in should begin around 10:00 a.m. Apologies this wasn’t clearly communicated in the original post.
This Sunday, January 4, 2025, 11:00 a.m. is the annual Madison Area USBC Masters and Queens.
This year the events will be conducted on the 2025 High School National Championships tournament pattern. We’d like to thank Jeff Richgels of the 11thframe.com for once again sponsoring the $100.00 sudden death match featuring the 2026 Queens and Masters winners.
Of note, we will not be using this pattern for the Open Championships. Instead, we’ll revert to an Open Championships pattern that is less difficult – yet still not a house pattern. Prior to using the same pattern for the Masters / Queens and Open Championships, we went with USBC “White” patterns and then some of the house-like patterns from the Kegel library, such as Main Street and Easy Street. Both of these top out at a 10:1 ratio. These conditions should provide familiarity to the typical league bowler – without being a complete giveaway. We’ll announce the pattern when decided (soon).
Entry fee remains at $50.00 and formats are the same as previous years. Five games of qualifying, competitors intermingled. Top eight bowl a bracketed finals. 1:4 cash. Masters is scratch. Queens is 100% handicapped to 220, max 30 pins.
Walk-ins are welcome. You can reserve a spot if you like – send is a message at .
